Opulent Inkwell

My blog is a personal collection of thoughts regarding my new hobby of learning about high end, luxury pens. Or as I was recently corrected to say that when you are appreciating these items, they are to be called “writing instruments”. I have discovered a world that I never really knew existed and I am really enjoying the journey.

My parents had Cross pens when I was growing up and I was always taking the pen and playing with it. My dad’s set had both a gold pen and a pencil. I have looked and they still make these skinny gold pens, but as an adult they don’t seem as luxurious as they did when I was a kid. So fast forward to 2025 and I bought my own Cross pen! It is white with gold trim – I had no idea what I was looking for when I made this purchase. I just knew it was expensive and that seemed like the criteria I was looking for at the time. Now don’t get me wrong, it is a beautiful pen but knowing what I know now I would definitely look at something different. Ballpoint pens are NOT my favorite. Little did I know that this was just the beginning and that I would be addicted to finding more and more rare and beautiful pens to add to my collection!
